Google Docs now lets you view 12 new file types

The Google Docs Viewer lets you conveniently view attached PDF, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint documents. Viewing the files in your browser is far more secure and faster than viewing them after downloading. With Google Docs Viewer’s improved features, you can now view various popular and highly-requested file types. Some of these include:
  • Microsoft Excel (.XLS and .XLSX)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)
  • Apple Pages (.PAGES)
  • Adobe Illustrator (.AI)
  • Adobe Photoshop (.PSD)
  • Autodesk AutoCad (.DXF)
  • Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG)
  • PostScript (.EPS, .PS)
  • TrueType (.TTF)
  • XML Paper Specification (.XPS)
These documents will show a “View” link when attached in your Gmail, and by clicking on this link you can view these documents. According to the official Google Docs Blog, the Google Docs Viewer is available for use on any website, with both a full Chrome and embedded option
